Introduction

DartDock ("we", "us") provides a darts league management platform. We respect your privacy and process your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Data we collect

When you use DartDock we collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), and authentication identifiers.
  • Profile data: display name, nickname, avatar, and language preference.
  • League and team data: team memberships, captain/manager roles, pub affiliations, and competition participation.
  • Match and statistics data: match results, scores, leg/dart statistics, check-ins and verifications you submit.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, login history, and basic usage logs needed to operate the service securely.

Why we collect it

We process your data to provide and improve the DartDock service. Specifically:

  • To run your account, league participation, matches and tournaments.
  • To calculate rankings, statistics and achievements.
  • To send notifications about matches, invitations, and account activity.
  • To monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the product.

Legal basis

We process your data based on (a) the contract we have with you when you use the service, (b) our legitimate interest in operating and securing DartDock, and (c) your consent where required (e.g. for optional notifications).

Data retention

We keep your account and league participation data as long as your account is active. Match results and statistics may be retained as part of historical league records even after your account is deleted, in anonymised or pseudonymised form. Technical logs are typically kept for up to 12 months.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate DartDock (hosting, database, email delivery, payments) under appropriate data processing agreements. Match results, team memberships and rankings may be visible to other DartDock users as part of the public league experience.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal data.
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to certain processing activities.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and regular backups. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to keep DartDock safe.
